WaterColor Shape Design
Now that we have a good understanding of color mixing and watercolor techniques, you will create a painting to demonstrate your awesome watercolor skills. For this painting, you will create an abstract design using only shapes. They will be separated by a white border to break up the composition and help you keep control over the paint and techniques you choose to use. Your design must include at least 15 shapes... but you can definitely have more! Within your shapes, blend colors and demonstrate at least 3 of the techniques we discussed in class (flat wash, salt texture, rubbing alcohol texture, dry brush, wet on wet, or graded wash) Scroll through the following pictures to see some examples of this painting. Remember, you can fill your page with random shapes, or come up with a theme that is represented by shapes.
